2025 Dogwood Queen

Lily Read

The Dogwood Festival Queen is chosen by the Kingsmen, a group of businessmen from Tyler County.  Each contestant is judged on poise, beauty and personality through a series of personal interviews with the Kingsmen.  The first runner-up to the queen is named the Princess of Tyler County.

Lily Grace Read was crowned the 82nd Tyler County Dogwood Queen on April 5, 2025. She is the daughter of Wade and Stacy Read of Chester.  Lily’s escort was Cutter David Lowe, son of Laura David and Stacey and Teri Lowe.

Lily’s oldest sister, Laken Read, was the 72nd Dogwood Queen, 10 years ago.  This was only the second time in Dogwood history that sisters have been crowned queen.

Lily has been dedicated to showing Brahman cattle for the past ten years. Through her involvement in agriculture, she has developed a strong work ethic, the ability to set and achieve goals, and the confidence to step outside of her comfort zone. Her efforts have not gone unnoticed, as she was the recipient of several awards this past fall at the Tyler County Fair: Legacy Award, Overall Herdsman Award, and the R.A. Jernigan Award.

Beyond the show ring, Lily enjoys traveling, shopping, and spending quality time with her family. A well-rounded student, she has also excelled in athletics during her high school years. Her favorite things include listening to music, her sweet dog Quincy, and her sisters.

After Lily graduates from Chester High School, she plans to attend Stephen F. Austin State University to pursue a degree in Agricultural Communications.
